Abstract

The contribution focuses attention on the studies that Maria Montessori initiated on women, starting from the early years of the twentieth century, to then focus on the enhancement of the social dimension of motherhood and on the undisputed creative and generative power of the woman (mother), promoter of more supportive societies. The first part of the contribution also focuses on the campaign in favor of universal disarmament, in which Montessori participated with numerous conferences, for reaffirming the role of education for educate a thought of peace.
