Abstract

In the current Italian situation, medical knowledge, which
operates excessively according to an instrumental and technical logic, can use the contribution of pedagogy to approach the contexts and situations of clinical care in an increasingly realistic and critical way, recovering its own matrix of “humanising” knowledge. It goes without saying that the existential conditions of patients require important and decisive pedagogical- educational attention. This implies a rethinking of the training of on service and future generations of doctors, nurses, health professionals, care workers, etc. From this perspective, the paper aims to explore the possibility of a mutually
generative dialogue between pedagogy and medicine through the role of the arts and cultural heritage as effective tools for promoting health professionals’8 well-being and to improve their relational and hermeneutic-
communicative skills also with aim to promoting a new cultural welfare.
